Rice Upma

This is another traditional South Indian Recipe in which our product Rice is the main ingredient. Among Rice Variety, Culture rice suits best for making this recipe.

Rice Upma:
This dish is known to most people.But I ‘m sharing for beginners.I can guess ,your face expression is changing on seeing the term upma. But this is tastier one.
Ingredients:
Raw rice-1 cup,oil-2tsp.,mustard,urad …dal,gram dal,red chilly-4,green chilly-2 slitted,asafotida powder-1 tsp.,salt,coconut oil – 2tsp.,chopped onion-1 cup,curry leaves,ginger-4pieces.
Keep a pan on stove and fry raw rice to get little heat.Keep it aside and allow to cool.Grind to tiny pieces in mixer ginder.Place a narrow pan or cooker on stove.Pour oil and heat.To this add mustard.After cracking add asafotida,urad dal,gram dal and fry till brown.Add red chilly,chopped onion,grated ginger,green chilly,curry leaves and fry for 5 min.Then add 2 cups of water and allow to boil.When it boils add the ground rice rawa and add salt.Allow to cook fully.Atlast add coconut oil.Tasty rice upma is ready to serve.Serve with coconut chutney.
